Hello guys! I am back with my next ‘Kick and Live’ article and this article would help you in recognizing and kicking off certain unhealthy habits from your present lifestyle which is sucking the essence of your life.
Your lifestyle is a combination of many different factors or elements. So, you need to amend all or some of them to reshape your lifestyle. Let’s begin with the a factor that is most important in designing your lifestyle.

It doesn’t matter to which age group you belong, if you want to attain a healthy lifestyle, you have to focus on your health and fitness as a priority. If you ask a group of friends to define a healthy lifestyle, you may end up with numerous definitions. Every person has his healthy lifestyle mantra and following those mantras makes them happy. For one friend of yours doing five times a week yoga and eating fast food twice a month is a healthy lifestyle. But for another friend of yours walking 3 miles daily and focusing only on organic food is a healthy lifestyle. There must be a friend of yours who thinks that instead of wasting hours in the gym, one should follow a keto diet and quit smoking and alcohol to remain healthy. So, there is a wide range of answers that claim to be true for a healthy lifestyle.
One thing that every definition of a healthy lifestyle would have is that we have to take care of our physical health and fitness to enjoy our life to the fullest.
Like my friend Nancy, many of you wouldn’t be focusing on your health and fitness. Because you never thought that to maintain a healthy lifestyle, firstly you have to focus on your physical health.
I am going to discuss a few points with you that could help you in maintaining your health and fitness which in turn would help you achieve a healthy lifestyle.
- Eat Healthy
Someone once said that your food defines your personality and a lot about your lifestyle. Today I am cent percent agreed to it. Because I have found out that eating the right food in the right quantity is not only important for your physical health, but it is also important to maintain a healthy lifestyle.
A few years back, I made small changes in my food choices and those changes proved quite miraculous. They boosted my health and helped me maintain a footstep for a healthy lifestyle.
To maintain your health and fitness, there are a few rules that everyone should keep in mind before having their meals.
- Rule One
Before eating a meal, a person should always find out how many calories he should eat depending on his activity level. If someone is very active and does regular workout, then he can have more calories. But for a person living a sedentary lifestyle, he should eat a smaller number of calories. If anyone eats more calories than his body requires, he may end up gaining weight. Because every extra calorie that he consumed would be stored in his body as fat cells. Doctors and nutritionists always recommend that a man should eat less than 2500 calories and a female should eat less than 2000 calories.
2. Rule Two
To maintain good health, a person should always choose foods that are high in fiber and are whole grain like boiled potatoes with their skin on, rice, pasta, cereals, etc. Because foods that are rich in fiber would keep you fuller for longer times and you would not munch on snacks or junk food due to extra cravings.
3. Rule Three
To get a healthy body we should always eat at least five portions of fruits daily. It may sound difficult to you to eat five portions of fruit. But if you swap your mid-evening snack with a fruit of your choice or garnish your bowl of cereal with diced banana pieces, the problem would be solved. You can have fresh, frozen, canned, dried, or juiced fruits, you just have to take them regularly to see a significant change in your health.
4. Rule Four
To get a healthy body and to achieve the goal of healthy eating, you should eat two portions of fish every week. Fish are a good source of protein and many vital minerals that our body needs to work properly. You can have salmon, trout, herring, sardines, coley, tuna, skate, hake, etc. But one thing to keep in mind is that the quantity of fish that you consume in a week should be measured and fall under limits set by certified nutritionists.
5. Rule Five
To maintain a good health and fit body we should keep a limit on the consumption of saturated fats and sugar. Because overconsumption of these two things could easily make you gain weight and sick. If you are consuming too much saturated fats, then there is a greater risk of developing heart disease due to the rise of cholesterol levels in your body. Saturated fats are found in a variety of foods like cheese, cream, cake, biscuits, butter, meat, sausages, etc.
The second thing that you should control to remain healthy is sugary food and drinks. Because the drinks and foods high in sugar could contribute to weight gain and health issues like tooth decay. So, you have to cut back on sugar to keep your body fit and healthy.
6. Rule Six
To maintain good health everyone should keep control of the consumption of salt. Because excessive consumption of salt could raise your blood pressure which in turn would raise heart diseases.
The majority of foods that we eat in a day have some quantity of salt in them like cereals, breads, sauces, and frozen food items. So, you don’t need to add an excess quantity of salt which would in turn make you sick and ruin your life.
7. Rule Seven
The last rule of remaining healthy is to never skip your breakfast. I know it may sound weird to you, but if have a habit of skipping a breakfast on regular basis then you have a greater risk of developing health issues like migraine, low energy, heart problems, blood sugar fluctuations, etc.
The key to remaining healthy is to have a balanced diet and cut back on items that are worsening your health. Just follow these easy but compulsory rules to lay foundation of healthy and fit body.
