  1. The second step is, you start reminding yourself to do a specific task daily. You need to make it a part of your routine. Once you made it part of your routine, soon it would become part of your subconscious. For example, you want to replace your evening glass of wine with a cup of coffee. So, every evening you have to remind yourself to drink coffee. 
  2. The third step is you need to stay away from factors that are not allowing you to add a new habit and quit an old one. For example, you were drinking wine every evening to deal with work-related stress. So, you need to avoid stress or deal with stress most effectively to get rid of the bad habit of drinking excessive wine and replace it with the habit of drinking coffee.
  3. The last step is you need to keep forcing yourself to practice something that you intend to make a habit until it becomes your habit and enters autopilot mode.

  3. Never think that a small change in your life doesn’t matter. A small bad habit can ruin your health and mental peace and in the same way, a small good habit can have a great positive impact on your life. So, keep on making small changes in your life to remain on the right track.
  4. Sometimes the outcome of changing a bad habit with a good one is not so big. But it doesn’t mean that this change has no impact on your life. For example, you were used to spending hours in bed or couch and as a result, you put on weight. Then you decided to change this bad habit with a healthy habit of doing workouts regularly. So, after adopting a new habit don’t focus on how much weight you have lost. Because you might have lost only a few pounds, but by adopting the habit of staying active you have changed your lifestyle to a healthy one.
